Concrete Jungle

On a recent weekend adventure, I had the pleasure of touring downtown Houston TX.    The expansive skyline was extensive.      I lived there a lifetime ago and did not have the pleasure of seeing the city.  IMG_8501

My life was very different then and priorities were focused on a small radius of home.   Though on a weekend, the traffic encircled the city was certainly surprising.

The streets were a grid and many one way streets.   Very easy to navigate and get around.

The city felt cold and surrounded in extensive concrete.    Little or no green and limited character or personality.      We did stumble upon a rail-car as we wondered the area and was surprised that unlike other cities there was not a public transit system.

And YES I was the passenger and not driving and taking photos on this adventure!
